History

Byakko

Rising majestically on Yamashina's heights, Shogunzuka Seiryuden symbolizes the dragon's divine protection watching over all Kyoto. As an auxiliary temple of the Aojirenji abbacy, it has long received the devotion of imperial and noble families, safeguarding the ancient capital. The tree-lined path purifies visitors' hearts, while the view from the summit reflects the Buddha's compassionate gaze. Embraced by the blue dragon's mighty protection, prayers ascend heavenward and descend as blessings. The dragon's eternal blessing over Kyoto remains forever unbroken.
