Hensho-zan Kinshokuji, located in Kibe, Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, is the head temple of the Shinshu Kimbe sect of Buddhism. Its principal image is Amida Nyorai. The temple is led by successive members of the Kimbe family, descendants of Zonkaku, grandson of Shinran, the founder of Jodo Shinshu. The Kimbe family also held the title of baron in the Meiji nobility system. The temple has served as a center of Nembutsu faith in the Omi region for generations, attracting many worshippers to this day.
