Koon-ji

Koon-ji is a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect, situated in the Akaiwa district of Chiyoda-machi, Gunma Prefecture. The principal image, Amida Nyorai, compassionately receives the suffering of sentient beings and guides them to the Pure Land. For generations, local people have visited this temple to pray for household safety, business prosperity, and academic success. Rooted quietly in the Akaiwa landscape, it has walked alongside the rhythms of daily life for many years, serving as a cornerstone of local faith.
