History

Byakko

Ichimomiya Nukisaki Jinja is a rare shrine in Kyoto where all the enshrined deities are goddesses. Since the Heian period, it has been revered as the guardian god of women and is particularly believed to fulfill the wishes of women. Once serving as the guardian deity of the marketplace and gathering the faith of merchants, it is now visited by many people at various important milestones in women's lives. Though the grounds are modest in size, the closeness felt to the divine is its charm.
