History
Ryoginan is a sub-temple of Tofukuji and the highest-ranking tачи among the Tofukuji sub-temples, originating as the residence of Mukanfumon (Daimyokokuji), the third head priest of Tofukuji. It sits in a tranquil location reached by crossing the Engetsubashi bridge. The famous hojo garden, known as the "tigers and cubs crossing" composition, expresses Zen truth through stone and sand. Opened to the public each November, it leaves a deep impression on all who visit.
