DaiseiShowgunnji is an ancient temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect, located in Taishido, Yao City, Osaka Prefecture. Its mountain name is Shinmyo Ryojuzan and the principal image is Nyoirin Kannon. According to temple tradition, Prince Shotoku founded the temple in 587 CE (the first year of Empress Suiko's reign) after praying for victory against Mononobe no Moriya during the Dingwei War. Following his triumph, he built the temple to honor the divine aid he received. It is counted among the Three Taishi Temples attributed to Prince Shotoku. Known locally as "Taishido," the temple has long been venerated for protection from evil and for granting victory in difficult endeavors.
