Kanagashikomioji, known as Kurotani Konkaigomyoji, stands as a principal temple of Pure Land Buddhism, an ancient sanctuary rising majestically in Kyoto's Sakyo district. Founded by Genchi Shonin, a principal disciple of Honen, the recitation of nembutsu has echoed through Kurohaya for over a thousand years. The darkly tiled main hall emanates solemn majesty and profound quietude. Countless pilgrims dedicate their lives to the single-minded recitation of Namu Amida Butsu. Situated in Kyoto's Kitashirakawa region, this sanctuary continues to illuminate the path to the Pure Land through steadfast nembutsu practice, its sacred flame burning as brightly as ever.
