Misode Tenmangu is a shrine enshrined in Nagae, Onomichi, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning. The beautiful name "Misode" is said to evoke the image of Michizane's elegant sleeves fluttering in the breeze. This shrine, which has long watched over the town of Onomichi, continues to be beloved by local residents. Particularly, many worshippers visit seeking academic success, and during examination season, numerous votive tablets are dedicated.
