This temple is known as a famous temple in Tatebayashi City, especially famous for the legend of the 'Bunbuku Chagama' (The Lucky Tea Kettle). Its founding is said to date back to the Ōei era of the Muromachi period, and it is also known as a temple associated with Kasuga no Tsubone. The 'Bunbuku Chagama' within the precincts is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and many worshipers reflect on its legend. The main hall enshrines Yakushi Nyorai (the Medicine Buddha), and is said to grant benefits for healing from illness.
