Awai Shrine

This shrine, dwelling in Awai, has been honored since ancient times as the god of grain and abundance, as the character 'awa' (millet) itself proclaims. Countless merchants have worshipped here, and their accumulated prayers for prosperity have strengthened this shrine's spiritual power. I have watched the millet sway in the breeze and prayed that the wishes of the people reach the heavens.
