History

Byakko

Hakusan Jinja is enshrined in the residential neighborhoods of Nerima and is a historic shrine with a transfer of enshrinement from Hakusan Hime Jinja of Kaga Province. Hakusan faith has long been revered since ancient times as a deity of agriculture and water, and has been cherished in this area as a deity protecting the fields and paddies. From the Edo period, it has been a source of spiritual support for local people, and in modern times, it remains cherished as the tutelary shrine of Nerima Ward residents. The grounds are rich in greenery and, despite being in an urban area, are loved as a healing space where one can feel the blessings of nature.
