This shrine is located at the summit of Usui Pass, which was once known as a difficult pass for transportation. Its founding is said to date back to the Enkyū era of the Heian period, and it has been worshipped since ancient times as a place to pray for the safety of travelers. The main hall enshrines Kumano Gongen, and with its powerful divine authority, it protects those who visit. In particular, due to its location at the summit of the pass, it is said to grant benefits for traffic safety, and many drivers and travelers visit to pray for safety. It is the guardian deity of Usui Pass, with a mystical atmosphere surrounded by magnificent nature.
