Amateras Omikami Takakura Jinja and Iwato Jinja are two neighboring shrines located in Kyokoji, Yao City, Osaka. The two shrines are so closely situated that their precinct boundaries are indistinct, and visitors can freely pass between them from the roadside stone steps. Amateras Omikami Takakura Jinja enshrines Amaterasu Omikami, the sun deity, while Iwato Jinja preserves the ancient tradition of iwakura sacred rock worship. Both shrines share a deep historical connection and have long been venerated as the tutelary shrines protecting the Kyokoji area.
