History
Horaku-ji in Hirosawachi is a temple that helps one experience the joy of dharma. Even those who thought practice was austere learn here for the first time the joy of dharma. I have observed the peaceful expressions appearing on pilgrims' faces many times. The incense drifting through the hall and the melody woven by the monks' prayers create what is truly paradise itself. The completion of practice is not the elimination of suffering but the state of mind that transforms even suffering into joy. Before Horaku-ji, all things shine with light and the heart naturally fills with the joy of dharma.
