History
This Unsho-in is a historic Rinzai Zen temple said to have been opened in the Kamakura period. It is said to have been founded by Kakusan Ni, the mother of Hojo Tokimune, and has long gathered the faith of people. The precincts are rich in greenery and enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere. In particular, the Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva statue enshrined in the main hall has a compassionate expression that soothes the hearts of visitors. It is said to grant wishes such as family safety, business prosperity, and warding off evil and good luck, and many people still visit to offer prayers. Prayers unchanged since ancient times still live on in this land. Its quiet and calm atmosphere is its charm.
