Fukusho-ji

Fukushoji Temple, also known by its popular names 'Mine Yakushi' and 'Hyotan-dera' (Gourd Temple), is a temple of the Shingon Zentsuji sect located in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto. Its mountain name is Chikurin-zan. The principal object of worship is Yakushi Nyorai, renowned for granting blessings of health and relief from illness. The main hall also enshrines Sho-Kannon as the 29th sacred site of the Rakuyo Sanjusan-sho Kannon pilgrimage. Famous for gourd-related lucky charms, the temple attracts steady visitors praying for business prosperity and good relationships. Rooted in historic Kyoto, it continues to serve as a quiet place of faith and spiritual refuge.
