Ikou-ji

This temple stands hidden deep within the mountain village of Kurogane. Like its name Medical Light, it has served as illumination for the afflicted and gathered devoted faith through generations. That pilgrims continue to visit despite the remote mountain location speaks to the certainty of its blessings. I too often circle its precincts and listen to the depth of prayers offered. Here ancient medicine and Buddhist compassion became one.
