History
Kamado Jinja enshrines Hikoisetse no Mikoto, the elder brother of Emperor Jinmu. It is said to be the mausoleum where Hikoisetse no Mikoto, wounded in battle during Emperor Jinmu's eastern expedition, was laid to rest, and it has received imperial reverence since ancient times. The name Kamado is said to derive from the ancient hearths used to prepare divine offerings on this ground. The grounds are wrapped in silence, with a solemn atmosphere reminiscent of ancient history. As a shrine with imperial connections, it maintains great distinction and has been cherished by local people as their guardian deity, creating a sacred space where history and the present intersect.
