History

Byakko

As a sub-temple of Nanzenji, Konchiin has long carried its ancient legacy, receiving the devout patronage of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The principal Fudo Myoo burns away all delusions with fierce eyes, instantly purifying the hearts of all who enter. The garden, inspired by the tale of a lion giving birth to a tiger, embodies both the austere and compassionate nature of Zen. The moss-covered stones, the gentle flow of spring water, and the silent presence of Fudo Myoo's protection continue purifying visitors' spirits.
