Amatsu Shrine

This shrine enshrines the spirit of Amaterasu Ōmikami and sits in the Hirano district of Kita Ward, Kyoto. An independent shrine unaffiliated with the Kyoto Prefectural Shrine Association, it has long been revered as a sacred place where the divine radiance of the sun goddess illuminates the hearts of worshippers. Even today, many visitors come to offer their prayers at this quiet yet spiritually steadfast place.
