Zuikoji Temple, also known as Gensean, is a Nichiren sect temple located in Fukakusa, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto. Its mountain name is Fukakusayama, and its former head temple was Minobu-san Kuonji. The name Zuiko means rare or auspicious radiance, a fitting name for this serene sanctuary in the depths of Fukakusa. The temple grounds, wrapped in Fushimi's tranquility, offer visitors a respite from daily life. Belonging to the Ushio-ji lineage of the Nichiren sect, it has long gathered the faith of local devotees as a place where the teachings of Nichiren are passed down to the present day.
