History
Shutsushakaji is revered as the seventy-third temple of the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage. As its name suggests, it is a historic temple with deep connections to Shakyamuni Buddha, preserving and transmitting the Buddha's teachings with care. Located near Zentsuji, the birthplace of Kobo Daishi, it holds special significance as a sacred site. Many pilgrims visit during their journeys, seeking inner peace through prayer. The quiet grounds offer a special space where one can forget the noise of daily life and purify the mind.
