Yohoji

Yohoji is a grand head temple of the Nichiren Honshū sect, located in Sakyō-ku, Kyoto. Its mountain name is Tahō Fujisan and its principal object of worship is the Jukai Mandala. As a member of the Fujimonryū lineage descending from Nikkō, it is one of the eight main temples of the Kōmon school, alongside the Fuji Five Mountains temples, Hota Myōhonji, and Izu Jōjōji. For centuries it has preserved the essential teachings of the Nichiren tradition, welcoming seekers of the Dharma.
