History
This shrine is located in the center of Tamamura Town and is an ancient shrine that enshrines Hachiman Kami. Its founding is said to date back to the first year of Ōhō (1161) of the Heian period, and it has gathered the reverence of local people since ancient times. The main hall possesses a calm dignity and exudes a serene atmosphere. Within the precincts, numerous subordinate shrines and sub-shrines are enshrined, signifying its role as a guardian deity rooted in the region. Every autumn, the annual grand festival is held on a grand scale, bringing vibrancy to the region. It is the guardian deity of Tamamura, loved by the local people and quietly etching its history.
