Myoden-ji Temple

Myodenji Temple, a head temple of the Nichiren sect in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, bears the mountain name Hokkyozan. Five sub-temples — Myoshakuin, Enryuin, Ryugakuin, Honkoin, and Gyokujuin — stand within its precincts. For centuries, this temple has served as a center of Lotus Sutra faith, welcoming devotees in the heart of the ancient capital.
