History
Osu Kannon is revered as a representative Kannon of Nagoya, beloved by many people. Formally known as Shinpuku-ji Hokkei-in, it is affectionately known as "Kannon-sama." Originally located in Osu, Gifu, it was moved to its present location by order of Tokugawa Ieyasu, a piece of history that defines it. Positioned at the center of Osu Shopping Street, it is cherished as a Kannon of the common people. Particularly known for blessings of warding off misfortune and business prosperity, it receives deep faith from local merchants. Various events are held within the grounds, and throughout the year it is bustling with many visitors, a vibrant sacred place.
