History

Byakko

Saikou-ji, as its name suggests showing light in the west, is beloved by islanders as a sacred place illuminated by the setting sun. This temple in Ko of Tonosho has functioned since ancient times as a place bringing light to people's hearts. I pray for the hope burning in human hearts as I gaze upon this temple bathed in sunset's glow.
