Kannon-ji

Myōonzan Kannon-ji, popularly known as Yamazaki Shōten, is an independent temple of the Shingon sect located on the eastern slope of Tennōzan in Oyamazaki, Kyoto Prefecture. The principal image is the Eleven-faced Thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara (Jūichimen Senju Kannon), whose thousand compassionate arms are said to reach all beings in need. The temple also enshrines Kangiten (Shōten), a deity of bliss and fortune who draws devoted followers seeking worldly blessings.
