History
Yagane Inari Jinja is a venerable Inari shrine enshrined in Higashimatsuyama. True to its name, it is a rare Inari shrine with traditions connected to bows and arrows. An old legend remains that Minamoto no Yorishige shot arrows at the divine spirit and offered prayers during a wildfire-prevention festival. While revered as an Inari deity bringing abundant harvests and commercial prosperity, it is also cherished as a deity of bows and arrows, attracting many worshippers seeking accuracy and goal achievement. The beautifully vermillion-painted shrine buildings in the grounds bring peace to the hearts of visitors.
