Washimiya Jinja is known as one of the oldest major shrines in the Kantō region. It enshrines Ame no Hohi no Mikoto, Take Hinatori no Mikoto, and Ōna Muchi no Mikoto. This shrine, said to continue from ancient times, is also a rare sanctuary enshrining deities of the Izumo tradition. Throughout its long history, it has been devoutly revered by many samurai and is cherished as a spiritually efficacious shrine attracting worshippers from throughout the Kantō region.
