Kishiwada Tenjin-gu is a historic shrine in Kishiwada City, Osaka, also known as Numa Tenjin after the area's old place name, Numa Village. It is distinctive for combining both Gion faith and Tenjin faith, and is one of the shrines featured in the famous Kishiwada Danjiri Festival procession. The combined divine virtues of Sugawara no Michizane's blessing for scholarship and Gion's protection against calamity have long drawn worshippers seeking academic success and good health.
