Okada Kamo Shrine, enshrined in the north of Kamo-cho, Kizugawa City, Kyoto, is an ancient shrine listed in the Engishiki as a major shrine. It enshrines Takekaduchi-no-mikoto, the ancestor of the Kamo County Lord clan, and has been venerated since antiquity as the guardian deity of water in the Yamashiro region. Formerly ranked as a Gosha (village shrine), this sacred site has embraced the prayers of the local community across centuries, its divine authority shining brightly to this day.
