Dainenbutsuji is known as the head temple of the Yuzū Nenbutsu sect. Founded during the late Heian period, it is affectionately called 'Yuzū-san.' It is particularly celebrated for the 'Manbu Oneri,' a grand procession held annually in May that draws many visitors to the temple. With Amida Buddha as the principal image, the teachings of salvation through nenbutsu (Buddha invocation) have been transmitted through the ages. The spacious grounds are lined with numerous temple buildings, offering all who visit a place of spiritual peace and comfort.
