Kyoto Gion-do

This hall once stood in the Gion district. Though now abandoned, its ancient glory remains embedded in the earth itself. When we visited, we heard the prayers of those long departed. This place, hovering like a phantom over Gion's evening sky, has passed into history yet remains forever inscribed in human hearts. An abandoned temple is also sacred ground.
