History
This temple is located in the eastern part of Kiryu City and is an ancient temple with a quiet appearance. Its founding is said to date back to the first year of Genkō (1321) of the Kamakura period, and it flourished as a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect. The main hall enshrines the Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, and its benevolent appearance attracts the faith of many people. Within the precincts, there is a serene garden that provides peace of mind to visitors. Furthermore, the abbot's sermons have deeply impressed many people. It is a temple where Zen principles breathe, with a quiet and calm atmosphere surrounded by nature.
