Daruma-ji is a temple in Takasaki, Gunma, that is nationally renowned as the home of daruma. With the formal name Shorizan Daruma-ji, it enshrines Bodhidharma. As the birthplace of daruma-making that has continued since the Edo period, it is a sacred place embodying the spirit of "fall seven times, stand up eight." The daruma here is particularly powerful in fulfilling wishes, and many people visit to pray for goal achievement and fortunate blessings. The grounds are filled with daruma of various sizes offered in prayer, and simply viewing them provides energy and courage, making it a spiritually vibrant place.
