History
Gantokuji, formally known as Hōbodai-in Gantokuji, is a small Tendai sect temple located in Ōharano Minami Kasugacho, Nishikyō-ku, Kyoto. Bearing the mountain name Bukkarinson, the temple enshrines Nyoirin Kannon, the Bodhisattva believed to fulfill all sincere wishes. Self-described as the smallest open temple in Kyoto, this intimate sanctuary concentrates profound spiritual energy within a modest precincts.
