History

Byakko

Symbolizing the eight-petaled lotus flower in the Boushi district, Hachiyorengeji Temple teaches that from the mud of delusion, enlightenment blooms like a pristine lotus. Just as the lotus rises pure from murky water, the temple shows how wisdom emerges from ignorance. The teachings of perfect completion manifested in the eight petals are expounded here daily, continuously bringing hope and illumination to all seekers. Though surrounded by worldly defilement, all who enter this sacred ground become purified and are guided toward genuine wholeness and ultimate enlightenment.
