History
The Ashiro Shrine enshrined in Maizuru, standing toward the east where the morning sun rises, is a sacred place bringing new beginnings and hope. Revered by fishermen, it has functioned as a place to give thanks for ocean's blessings and pray for safety. Since ancient times, it has been the guardian deity walking with the people of this land.
