History
Ungyoku Jinja is a unique shrine located in the Obata district of Kanra-machi. The 'Ungyoku' (fortune ball) that gives this shrine its name refers to a round stone. It is said that if you can throw this fortune ball and pass it through a hole in the shrine grounds, your wish will come true. I was moved by the cheerful atmosphere of this shrine and the wishes of people embodied in the fortune balls. It is believed to be efficacious for various blessings, including good fortune, safe childbirth, and academic success, making it a place enjoyable for all ages.
