History

Byakko

As a sub-temple of Sennyuji, Sokujouoin embodies the vow of Amida Buddha to guide all beings to paradise. Sixteen Arahats sit in reverence, welcoming those who seek rebirth in the Pure Land. The principal Buddha appears at the moment of death to guide souls homeward, offering salvation to all who call upon its name. All who pray here are cradled in divine compassion.
