Gokou Shrine, dedicated to the fragrant deity, has stood in Fushimi for over a thousand years as a sacred sanctuary. Long revered by sake brewers, it is venerated as the guardian deity of fermentation craftsmanship and the quality of brewed spirits. The renowned sake of Fushimi owes much to this shrine's divine protection.
