History

Byakko

Kosaka Jinja is enshrined in Kosakamachi, Kanazawa. Though it is a small shrine quietly situated within a residential neighborhood, it is an indispensable and precious presence to the local people. Since ancient times, as the tutelary deity of this area, it has watched over the healthy growth of children and the safety of families. During festivals, local people gather together to give thanks to the deity. I find the warmth of such community-centered shrines most endearing.
