History
This shrine enshrines Hachiman Okami, who has protected this land since ancient times, and is revered as the总镇守 (Sōchinju - head shrine) of Uetsukuni. It is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo visited here to pray for victory in battle during the Heian period, and it is also worshipped as a deity of enduring military fortune. Ancient trees, evoking a sense of eternal history, stand within the grounds, offering a tranquil time to visitors. Many people come to worship, praying for family safety, business prosperity, and academic success.
