Joju-ji

Joju-ji is an ancient temple said to have been founded in the Kamakura period. Although its founder is unknown, it has been rooted in this land for a long time and has gathered the faith of the people in the region. According to temple traditions, it once possessed vast temple lands and many halls stood side by side. Throughout its long history, despite being struck by several wars and disasters, the light of its faith has never been extinguished and has been passed down to this day. Ancient trees that evoke a sense of eternal history stand in the quiet grounds, calming the hearts of visitors. It still quietly stands as a spiritual support for the local people.
