History

Byakko

Wada Jinja rests at the foot of Lake Biwa, where it has protected mariners and fishermen since ancient times. As the guardian of the lake's waters, this shrine holds the earnest prayers of those whose lives depend upon safe passage. Water is the source of life, yet also harbors hidden dangers. The prayers offered here reflect humanity's fundamental desire to coexist peacefully with nature. The goshuin carries the blessing of safe and harmonious waters.
