Myohouin Monzeki

As the main hall of Sanjuusangendo, Myohouin has long preserved the sacred flame of Buddhism, overflowing with the vast compassion of the thousand-armed Kannon. The noble lineage of its monzeki (imperial abbess) has kept this lamp burning brilliantly for a thousand years, illuminating the hearts of all who enter. Kannon's thousand hands embrace infinite wishes, while her light of compassion gently envelops a troubled world. All who stand before the thirty-three bay hall and offer prayer are blessed and protected by her eternal smile.
