History
Kanazawa Jinja is a shrine beloved as the deity of learning, adjacent to Kenroku Garden. It enshrines Sugawara Michizane and particularly gathers the devout faith of students and examination candidates wishing for academic success. It was established as the tutelary shrine of Meirintei, the academy of the Kaga domain, and has watched over the academic advancement of young scholars studying at the domain school. Set against the beautiful four seasons of Kenroku Garden, it is truly a sacred place befitting scholarly pursuits, where one can worship the deity of learning in a quiet environment.
