Wakae Kagami Shrine

Wakae Kagami Shrine, an ancient shikinaisha (shrine listed in the Engishiki), is enshrined in Wakae Minamicho, Higashiosaka City, Osaka. Revered since antiquity as the guardian deity of the Wakae district in Kawachi Province, it takes its name from the sacred mirror enshrined within, symbolizing clarity of heart and self-reflection. The shrine held the former rank of gōsha (village shrine), and has long served as the spiritual center for the local community.
