Mandoraji is the 72nd sacred site of the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage and an ancient temple connected to Kobo Daishi. As its name indicates, it is a temple that transmits the profound teachings of esoteric Buddhism based on mandala teachings. With Dainichi Nyorai as its principal deity, it is revered as a sacred place embodying Buddhist teachings that speak of universal truth and harmony. In particular, it is said to have spiritual efficacy in dispelling confusion of the mind and finding one's direction in life, and many people at crossroads in their lives visit to pay respects.
